The Facebook app is embedded into Westfield Shopping Centre’s Facebook profiles as a tab and is also available on the mobile platform.
The advent calendar metaphor used by the app is created using HTML5 and CSS3 animation effects.
Donations are collected via PayPal and entry data is automatically shared to Westfield and Save The Children via SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol).
The content for the app is database driven so as many sites and prizes can be added as needed so the app can be reused for other campaigns, ensuring maximum return on the cost of development.
